I tried deer hunting in some bush last month but did not get a deer. I did bump into a red hind within 5 meters and we both got a bit jump. She ran off before I could get a shot. I do 'still hunting' which is basically stalking around.
Went to a different area yesterday and scored a feral goat, which in this area behave a lot like deer: quiet and flighty. In areas with low hunting pressure the goats are quite easy to hunt because they don't run away very fast and make a lot of noise. Another hard part was carrying the quartered goat out as the area was really thick and steep, car was about a mile away uphill. Pic related the spoils of the hunt. Now will let the meat rest for a couple of days and decide what to make with it.
