Not really, I started by accident 2 years ago. I was eating a melon under my tree, and the seeds fell there. Then some melon plants grew and i started watering them and such. Melons didn't grow much, about the size of a baseball, but they were very sweet.

Last year I planted bunch of peppers, ate peppers the whole season.

This year I'm trying broccoli, garlic, and more peppers.
