I know there's several people in this thread that raise chickens, so I'd like some advice. I'm planning on getting some soon and letting them free-range sometimes, mostly just to have a steady supply of eggs with the occasional meal from a spent layer or an unnecessary cockerel. I'm torn; part of me wants to get fuckhuge standard fowl, while another part of me wants to go the exact opposite route and get bantams.
Big niggas-
>threatened less by small predators>can potentially fight off medium-sized hawks>big eggs>huge carcasses on the culls>grow slowly>eat a tonBantams-
>rich, yolky eggs>can more easily fly away from predators>can fit more in the same area>eat way less>can be eaten by literally anything>get way less meat per carcass>go broody a lot, which is both a plus and a minusCurrently leaning towards bantams, but I'd like to hear second opinions.
>>2285938This thread is mostly about growing food and not houseplants, /plant/ on /an/ might be more help. Having said that, if you have a sunny window you can plop a pineapple crown in a pot and it'll grow roots and make a lovely houseplant.
