if you want to learn exactly how to gut and clean a fish there are tons of videos on Youtube going over it
if you are willing to spend more there are electric scalers as well, but manual is pretty simple tbh
if you are new maybe bring a book or something to help you identify the fish so you know what you're catching
as for ice fishing, might as well go to a lake instead since the fish won't be biting as much up river before migration
