fwiw the tent i've been using for the last 3 years is 5 lb 5 oz. i carry it for up to 5 days at a time, often with other heavy gear like climbing equipment, and i like it because it's roomy and durable (70d floor, baby!). i'm going to buy something lighter probably in january, but really the biggest thing i'd really like to decrease is packed volume.
