Lazy rangers dont do much on the beach patrolling so you can walk a few of miles beyond where the tourists go and have a beach or cove all to yourself to overnight in. there is drift wood to burn and mussels/rockfish/edible kelp/monkeyface eel/sea urchins/crabs/scallops/shrimp to harvest. I once spent 9 days alone here foraging and with friends we have camped in lots of different spots.
one of my favorite spots has trees and a small creek that has a very old stone wall build into it. Some say the pomo indians and some say the ohlone created it many years ago to dam the river and the farmers kept it up into the early 1900's you can dam it up and swim in it..
