Basically, all you need is a hidey-hole on level ground for toads. Unglazed pottery, cement, and stone are the best materials. A broken pottery planter laid on its side to form a roof can work. Tuck them under big leafed plants (squash/pumpkin) or plants that have lots of dense foliage (peppers/asparagus thicket). Just keep the sun off them completely. Check them occasionally to see if something else hasn't setup a house, like a mouse. Evict as needed.
