Essentially my plan was to bug out to my parents house in the suburbs early as fuck any time I thought that something might be going wrong. I had a decent amount of food, water and general preps stored there. And also a decent amount in my old SUV, enough that I could live in it for weeks to make the journey if the roads were fucked.
But yea, your only real chance is to bug out so early that bugging out is a good idea.
I'd be surprised if anyone actually plans to bug in in the city.
