>>2436645Morakniv is good for the price. Easy to sharpen to a razors edge, fairly durable (at least the heavy duty high carbon steel variants), and you don't have to worry about losing or abusing it. Even if you don't like them, it's a good backup knife to loan to a friend.
Knife fags are like other niche groups (watch fags, headphone fags, shoe niggers, etc.) It's full of elitists convincing themselves that their $200 knife wasn't a waste of money and circle jerking with other knife fags about what knife looks the best and pretending like anything less than $100 is poorfag garbage. Their $200 knife is better than a Mora, but it's still only worth maybe $40-50. There's diminishing returns with everything, but avoid being cheap. A $10 knife is crap, a $20-50 knife is likely good, and above $50 you're probably throwing your money away.
I use a Mora Companion Heavy Duty Carbon Steel for most things /out/, a stainless steel Opinel for cooking/filleting fish, and a small pocket knife for day to day non-outdoors stuff. I don't whittle so idk how it works for that.
