i have an /out/ wife, and we've met working in an office, so don't despair.
she've never been an extreme /out/ist but we've travelled together camping in europe, north and south america, even in malaysia and thailand.
hiking the inca trail in perú, biking the coast of argentinian patagonia, mountain climbing in the andes, rafting white waters rivers in perú and chile, or just on a one night camping to a small lake close to our house, we had the best times, alone, with our 2 kids or with other people.
never complaining, hard worker on campsites, great /out/ cooker! she is one of my best friends, great company, super funny and caring.
but we're getting older (she's 45, i'm 51) and she busted both knees, her family has a story of week joints or some shit. now she can't hike at all, only short bike rides without climbs or loading, and even spending a night in a sleepping pad is a torture for her.
she's so great that she's encouraging me all the time to go /out/ alone or with friends.
i love travelling alone but i always miss her in the trails.
