>>2760045OP here. I feel like I dropped that wallyworld comment not giving enough context for some.
Walmart has “supercenters” throughout the US and roughly 45 min radius from even most rural communities.
We don’t shop at Walmart or dollar general unless it’s unavoidable.
IT IS NOT A GROCER! Just because you can buy groceries, and poor people do, doesn’t make it a grocery store. It is a department store that has effectively shut down all competition and now sells “food” but I wouldn’t buy or eat anything from Walmart unless I was desperate.
I would love to just go to Al’s and get my licenses done and pick up a couple of boxes of .22 ammo like I used to but the sporting goods and hunting store closed down almost ten years ago now. It’s a liquor store and smoke shop now.
I wanted to be sure I was legal and didn’t want to dick around making a dnr account online.
Walmarts have sporting goods counters and sections where you can renew or purchase a fishing license, hunting license (your supposed to have a class but like the other anon said it’s stupidly easy to talk these morons into just signing whatever) or in my case a migratory bird permit.
The city or local council doesn’t handle matters like that it’s all through the department of natural resources and supposed to be heavily regulated.
I guess I take for granted things like renuing your licenses. It’s a simple and cheap process and it can be done online or you can go to any store that sells fishing poles and they have different certifications available through the state. You give them your info an $10 or $20 and you’re on you’re way.
I should note, there are further restrictions on hunting and you’re not supposed to be able to just waltz in and waltz out and start killing shit… not supposed to doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen.
I could keep going. I fucking hate Walmart. We have a decent small business community and I try to support keeping my money local.
