Not every outdoor trip or activity is a 3+ day backpacking adventure. Hunting, mountain biking, and day trips to just go have a lunch are all viable and perfectly sustainable. But Agenda 21 and its associated legislative efforts don't see it that way. Mountain biking is really no less harmful than hiking or horseback riding. At least my mountain bike doesn't reach off-trail and eat vegetation.
Not to mention limiting access removes access to firewood for those of us who use wood heat. Heaven forbid I be independent of grid-tied systems or use one of the only truly renewable heat sources available.
Also keep in mind the vast number of human activities considered 'unsustainable' in A21. Skiing is one of them. Abolition of ski resorts is considered a key effort in the creation of human-free zones, just like killing access to the forest.
Eventually it will become our duty to violate all of these laws and sabotage federal lands agency infrastructure as a form of rebellion.
