>>1235952Oh for sure, we've hired some goons but they generally don't last long. That is any trade though, there are shit companies and good companies, and there are those workers that jump companies every year for multiple reasons.
If you don't show up to work, especially mondays, consistantly (drug addicts, alcoholics) then you get fired. Worked with a guy that openly admitted to my boss that he did meth and took it up the bum too hard and tore his rectum. White guy with dreads, hippie type. Didn't last more than a season. Couple drunks too that did decent work (if they showed up) but were way too slow, so they got let go in a couple months.
If you're a retard, you don't do much other than labour, or you get seriously hurt. Currently have a labourer that falls all the time, broke his finger in the dumbest way, generally does things that baffle us. Stuck at labourer because no one trusts him with anything other than slinging wheelbarrows.
If you're an asshole, creep, pedo, you better be able to hide it from the home owners or run your own company. There are types of companies that thrive with these people, but they aren't usually doing high end stuff, or they are working for large companies with dozens of workers and blend in.
If you're a felon, it depends on a lot. Some of the coolest people I've worked with used to be coked/drunk constantly and changed their ways completely. I believe in second chances. Anyways, I work out of a pretty decent area so we don't get any felons.
I work in a company with like 5-15 employees, depending on the time of year. Go through a bunch every year and weed them out until the best are left. Generally, as long as you show up to work, look presentable (no sagging/sweat pants, no blaring music, can speak without swearing every sentence) work hard and constantly strive to learn and be humble, there aren't problems.
