>>1429954Final update. I had some time today to sand out the last of the tool marks. I put it in a jar of food-grade mineral oil and pulled 25inHg of vacuum. Once the wood stopped bubbling I released the partial vacuum slowly while sloshing it to keep the wood covered in oil. The wood went from floating like a boat, on the oil, to sinking like a rock. Now it should be very well stabilized for all kinds of wet environment use.
