>>2046480I've had one of these vented canvas hats for a long time, the venting is good for keeping cool, plus they're lightweight and stick to your head well if you're somewhere windy.
I've had those white straw hats, and while they keep the sun off, they give me migraines. I used to wear them showing horses and by the end of the day I'd need an ibuprofen from it pinching my head. The synthetic straw ones someone mentioned earlier are really durable though if you care about that.
If you do get a real western hat (straw or felt) like in your picture, you might want to go the full nine yards and get it steam fit to your head, really the only way for them to fit properly
