I will be careful, I grew up in poortugal and moved to England as a lad (I'm English) and I've always kept a romantic longing for dustbowls and mountains, wildfire areas and wastelands full of crickets and scorpions. I'll try Spain and move across to the lusher valleys of Portugal if it's too harsh.
Just in case anyone can relate or offer an opinion, the reason I want to go is to declimatise myself from being an urban pussy before I go and track down my estranged dad. As well as my own standards, I'd hate him to see what a pansy I've become since I saw him as a child.
