>>1967013That one was just a lot of sanding and stepping up grits of sandpaper after filing the bevel. Pop the head off the handle, file the bevel, start with 80 grit sandpaper and stop at 2000, then polish it on a buffing wheel. Sand handle down, lightly torch it, apply boiled linseed oil, hang head back on handle. Sharpen with whetstones, then strop. There's no real trick to it, just time, patience, and elbow grease. I rarely put that much effort into them though. Most of the time all that is needed is removing surface rust, giving the edge some love, and rehang like pic related.
