>>1616371>Osage thornsI have osage here and none of them have thorns of any real note. Even blackberries have better thorns and are easier to make a hedge with and be useful. If you just want thorns then use honey locust (Gleditsia triacanthos) [pic] to make the hedge. Since thorns are not really needed, I'd just go with hazelnut, high bush blueberry, hickory nut, apples, cherry, mulberry, chestnut, paw paw, persimmon, walnut, peach, butternut, northern pecan, plum, serviceberry, mayhaw, and beech. All produce fruit or nuts and have northern varieties for my area and I grow a few of these already. I have one section I'm attempting to lay a plum hedge.
