>>505044>right now i've got banana pancakes for breakfast, pasta for my first night down there and sausages, egg and toast for either breakfast/dinner one night, depending on what i can come up with.With that menu, you're obviously not backpacking so there is no point in eating shitty eXtreme ultra-lite dehydrated foods (that no doubt will be suggested...) and that being the case, you ought to go for something special or at least eat normal "home" foods.
On our last camp-out (a weekend steelhead fishing trip) the menu was pretty pedestrian, as fishing was the theme of the weekend instead of hanging out while eating and drinking beer, (though we did that also) so my buddies and I had;
FRI: (the drive up, camp set-up, etc.) pre-made sandwiches
SAT Breakfast: Egg Salad (pre-made) sandwiches
SAT Lunch: Venison Chili
SAT Dinner: Delmonico steaks, canned Green Beans and Corn
Now on our last "hanging-out" camp-out in August, we had Smoked Leg of Lamb for dinner one night with grilled Beef Tri-Tip and a "vegetable bomb" of potatoes, onions and peppers he next and in the past, we've had Beans & Rice, Grilled Chicken sandwiches, fried Cheese & Potato Pierogi with onions, smoked Turkey and Subterranean Turkey, Omelets, smoked Venison Tenderloin, BBQ Pulled Pork pita wraps, deep-fried Pork Bellies (coma inducing) and all kinda other _good_ food.
(Note: I didn't cook any of that shit except the steaks, as I suck at cooking, so it helps to have someone along who knows WTF they're doing, has the cooking gear and enjoys camp cooking)
