After 4-20 years, you know how to layer properly and are used to it. I'd pick ACU over anything but linen in the heat.

I have a similar model. Use it for lure carving, brush clearing, cleaning fish, making tinder, and tying rigs. Primarily.
It's a good shape for delicate work. Sturdy enough for when I don't pack the machete. And would probably clean a mammal well, if I needed to.
It's only the first year I can afford to camp, as an adult, but there's no discernable damage. I've confidence in everything but the synthetic handle.

But seriously, why not? Bayonet knife + bayonet mount + sturdy wooden staff. Knife and staff are both useful for their main functions, and in a matter of seconds you have quite impressive weapon for self-defense or maybe even hunting.
