>>1361735It is intentionally horribly overpriced. Campers in western countries pay extra so some nigger in Kenya or Uganda can buy that actually more useful bigger stove they produce at cheaper price tag or get one for free. That applies all of their products, from solar panel kits and lamps to stoves.
>>1361739Charging electric devices part is secondary function in their stoves. Primary function is providing electricity for a forced induction fan that allows cleaner burn by feeding air to fire at base of fire and secondary burn of gasses at top of fire. Less smoke in mudhuts of 3rd world.
Newer version of their camping stove has a small 2600mAh power brick built into it, that might allow bit faster and more efficient recharging of phones and other devices like cameras for example. The recharging part probably provides something around 200 to 300mAh in 30 or 40 minutes it takes to set stove burning, cook a meal and to let fire burnout while eating said meal. That is about 10% of typical phone battery. So it probably would take like 3 hours to recharge that phone to useful level. That might be a decent thing while back backing, but for most parts it is for topping off batteries while cooking.
>>1363061>I don't get this product. It is about selling good will to hipsters, like with other products BioLite sells in western countries. They provide a so called impact report over their activities, all kinds of numbers... with zero financial information to back how charitable their operation actually is. Selling kickstarter campaigns to world hugging numales is a major part of their business plan.
When compared to no frills twig stove, that is essentially made of five laser cut sheets of stainless steel, it burns that wood more efficiently and provides minor amount of electricity.
