>>2038880Depends what you're throwing and where, I personally enjoy long noodle rods. I like to throw mini jigs, trout magnets, spinners, and little swim baits. All in the 1\32-1/8oz range.
I mostly fish reservoirs and open lakes, I use a Okuma Celilo 8'6 Ultralight light, and a Okuma Guide Select Pro 9'6 light. Paired with an Okuma Ceymar 10/30 on 4lb nano braid to 4lb mono.
You should be fine with a 6-7 footer ultra light, but try out a noodle rod. I got my 8'6 for 10 bucks new and love it. I keep a 5'6 Celilo if I'm going somewhere with bushes or not a lot of room.
