>>2429888saddle width is probably the most important measurement for a saddle. you want all the pressure to be on your sit bones, not the soft tissue in between them, so a saddle which suits the distance of your sit bones is crucial. unfortunately a lot of manufacturers make saddles which curve exponentially towards the outer edge, therefore making the listed width nowhere close to the effective width. that's one thing i like about Ergon, their saddles are wide and flat, with size options. my sit bones are 13.5cm apart, and this matches up well with the M/L size. you can measure your sit bones just by sitting on a piece of cardboard and measuring the distance between the centre point of each indentation left behind.
saddles are painfully personal and very subjective. i wish i could tell you which saddle will work for you, but you just gotta try them all until you find it. picrel is my unfortunate saddle collection hehe
