Bug out bag is meant to be more like emergency kit to cover various scenarios including evacuating and you just gave people weekend camping starter list. First aid kit, some food and water, items which can be use for light, communication, protection, signaling etc. Along with right skills AND frequent training might turn tides during natural disaster, armed conflict, medical emergency, house fire etc.
