There was a long trek between the carpark and where she got stuck. None of it would have helped in the long run anyway unless someone could have gotten scuba gear to her, which of course nobody had brought to a creek. Not that they would have been able to make it back in time anyway. It all happened very fast.
I'd have maybe just tried to cut her foot off, but by the time that kind of extreme seemed necessary it would have been physically impossible.
