>>1675602Literally everywhere. Brookies thrive in Maine moreso than any other state. It's their optimal habit. 90% of the state has water every 2 miles, and almost always running.
I've caught so many brookies just walking up random streams. A few of us used to drive to New water religiously almost everyday after work and walk streams with shitty Walmart tackle and worms. You can really do a number with tenkara and just throwing small nymphs under your feet.
If you search "Northeast Fishing and Exploration" on YouTube I have a few videos about it.
Haven't update it in years, been too busy.
Pic related; all the spots I've caught fish are gold stars. Within the past 4 years.
>>1675454It's common place for farms around here to hunt hire hunters to remove deer and totes and other varmint off farms. It's pretty much required for the larger USDA licensed farms a lot of farms tend sweet corn. The state allows has a hunting stipulation that you can hunt on your property with no quarry limits on pests, if your property is more than 10 acres and functioning as farmland. A lot of owners are busy tending animals and veggies/ making deals with market basket so they hire hands and Grant hunt rights.
Land trusts function similarly, except you need a game license and contract.
A lot of people night hunt for totes around here, it's a good activity after deer season and through the sunmer, the permit is cheap $4 and there are no wep restrictions, no orange requirements and they have to be taken by calling (mouth or electronic)
They are uncontrollable up here, deer are everywhere too.
Did you know, Maine is the largest corn producer for human consumed corn in the North East. The state is the largest supplier in New England.
