>>1547132I've had the original Suunto Ambit for years now. Back then the Ambit was a pragmatic watch and it really meant business. I actually got to know one of my best friends because we had the same watch, which meant we had the same passion for the mountains.
The watch in the picture is mine, I wear it every day, all day. I take it off only if I need to charge it or if I set the alarm ( I found out that it's hard to hear the alarm, when it's under thick blankets). It's covered in scratches from rocks and walls, I've managed to scratch the semi-invincible glass, I've changed many, many straps.
The strap is actually its Achille's heel, but you can replace it easily with a small torx deal. I have to admit that years ago even the straps were higher quality (especially the "buckle"), but this particular strap I am using now is, in my educated opinion, Suunto's strongest model so far.
I would reccomend a Suunto Ambit blindly but I can't say for the other newer watches.
