http://woodgas.wikispaces.com/WWII+Pictures ) is a dead link and internetwaybackmachine doesn't have it either. The plane type starts with a "C" I think. Like "C-36##" or "C-35##" or something. They did conversions on them from the original fuel type. They used woodchips at first for the gasification but switched to charcoal from then on for gasification. I think they started doing that towards the end of WWII. The plane in this image was one type that was converted too, but post-war (this one isn't converted, fyi). It was pretty neat really.
