>>117051> We got caught without power (and with few good options) in February in New England. 17F sucks.I'll be moving into a new house soon and one of the critical things I want done on it, is to get
a power transfer switch installed that will allow me to use my small generator (2000w) to power
the furnace in the winter in the event of a power outage.
It's one thing for the power to go out in the summer, when you can sit around with candles
and drink up all your beer before it goes warm but a power outage in the winter with below
zero temps for more than a day, means you're going to have to go to a motel (good luck
with that, if everybody else is without power) or you'll freeze to death.
