So I have an astilbe that I think has both a mealybug (only saw one big sucker on a stem) AND a spider mite infection (few little webs at the base of the stems/soil) and the leaves aside from new growth look like shit. An earwig was crawling about too so I assume there's more bugs than I can visually see on the plant, possibly in the roots or soil. I've been spraying it with a combo of diluted dish soap and 70% isopropyl infrequently but obviously the bugs are still there.
What systemics did you use or would you recommend specifically? I'm completely ignorant when it comes to pest control. Please help me make these fuckers wish they were never born without doing too much collateral damage to the plant.
