Cord saw is still shit and has the same flaws but at least it's way lighter.I've had more than one cord/wire saw break on me. The pull rings can be utter garbage and are usually attached by crimping. That's usually the point of failure for me, but I've had the wire snap or fray a couple times. The chainsaw style ones are sturdier but heavier and cut quite well. They do take way more energy than you want to be using in a survival situation.
Overall, I'd say a wire saw is way more flawed.
