This and a cups canteen is all you need really to cook noodles etc or boil water for other kinds of meals. Bring a light frying pan if you want to get fancy and put a brew on in the cup while you eat or cook double portion for your mate. Liquid fuel stoves in alpine environment is a better idea or you'll take forever to heat anything. Don't cook in a tent, but cook under a basha no problem. I''ll cook in the entrance to a tent where it has cover over head but no floor and the entrance wide open. Just remember ventilation and that if you kick it your tent might become a fireball
