I'm really not sure why this is even a problem for people. I think it has to do with how most people don't even know how their food gets into the store or restaurant let alone knowing anything about farming.

One vacation trip or short walk can give you enough salt to last a very long time (10lbs of salt = 5 years at a Daily Value intake of 2.4g per day.) 200lbs of salt should last you over 100 years. A gallon of sea water, (evaporated down) can give you about 127.5grams of salt (53 days worth of salt). Surface salt deposit concentrations will vary wildly.
>>1209369I'm not even sure what you are on about. I'm nearly self-sufficient. My only hold-back is retarded things like coco powder, coffee, and black pepper. Mostly because I don't yet have a greenhouse and I still want those things. I'm going to try growing tea this year, but I already have lots of herbals that I grow as tea substitutes.
