I'd say I was a combat boot guy for a long time, just due to background I guess. But having tried a few proper mountaineering/hunting/hiking boots, I'm pretty set in what I prefer now. Boots like pic related just provide so much support I feel as though the damn things would keep me on my feet even if I was ready to collapse.
However I don't believe there's much to be said for arguing about the difference in comfort. For one thing, every bodies feet are different and so is every brand of boot so personally I wouldn't even bring something like that up.
