I saved some seeds from hot peppers bought from the grocery store and planted them. they flowered a bunch but so far I've only gotten 1 fruit. what's happening here? are they supposed to be sterile and the 1 pepper is just a fluke? I also have another pepper plant next to it that I grew from a seed pack, which has a whole bunch of fruits now. I suppose it's possible they cross-pollinated but shouldn't there be more fruits on the first plant in that case? especially since I just dabbed them both with the same q-tip for pollination.
