>>195923>what should I get for back up?I keep a Gerber Dime in my EDC kit. It's perfect for those everyday things, but obviously can't handle massive torque. If you know how to use an Opinel daily without chipping it or breaking it, you have the intelligence to realize how far your ultralight multitool can go - that's how I see it at least.
To pre-empt the possible question: I own an older Leatherman and only use it at home. I tried keeping it with me, but it's just too bulky. The small tool I have with me always and the tool you have is far superior to the one you didn't bring.
I picked this one primarily because it had a good plier head, a scissor and a reasonable blade. The little wedge is a chisel ground package opener, I thought it was hokey but it's actually very useful, especially for hard plastics. The tool also has a small tweezer, which has removed a bit of splinters.
