>>1496628>I mean, ease of setup, weight, bulk, overall comfort I know where you're coming from, I'm trying to go as light as possible, too. My hammock setup consists of 4 items (hammock, 2x 5m nylon webbing, tarp) and takes less than 5 minutes to setup. Know your knots and you can setup anything with ease. Hammock and suspension weigh less than 500gr (with the suspension making up the majority of that), my tarp is a bit on the heavy side because it was cheap af (student here) and at the time I wanted one with extra UV protection.
>but cuts and weight distribution and shape all factor inUnless you bought an asymmetrical (tried one, really didn't like it because I like to slide around a lot), it's literally a big rectangle gathered at the end. As someone who sews, hammocks are probably the easiest thing you can make yourself. But buying silnylon by the meter/yard is more expensive here than buying the hammock online.
>my hennessy is well worth the money Ive spentJust out of curiosity, did you fall for the dutch titanium meme too?
>>1496632It's really comfortable because it has stretch in it.
>>1496658Look into making a ridgeline and consider getting straps (1" nylon webbing works and is cheap, you may have to look for backpack replacement straps sold by the yard/meter) to protect trees with soft and thin bark.
