Hey /out/, I'm an anon currently living in Montana, Land here (even undeveloped) is expensive as hell, and I'll probably get 6.5 acres of land when my old man passes, but that's quite a ways down the road, it isn't very far in the woods ( has neighbors, super dry earth, can't get water rights despite being just south of an irrigation ditch), question is, what should I do? I'd like to stay living in this beautiful state, living off my own patch of land, and I have experience in gardening, hunting, and staying warm in the winter (ie logging) but no experience in how to build a cabin, getting off the grid, or anything of that sort, also I'm a little concerned about what I should do for the off chance I get in a medical emergency and the nearest ER is 40 miles away, should I learn some basic med skills by taking an EMT class?
