Not sure if irrational fear or real threat. I've never felt unsafe innawoods in Germany, France, Belgium or that tiny country where I'm from, landlocked by the 3 previously mentioned places.
Sure I've gotten my few scares because owles. Those fucking owles at night screaming like a damsel in distress.
Up until now though, I've really only had to deal with boars and I know how to act around them. If I see one chasing towards me, I'll just step aside and watch it run right past me. Worked on the 4 encounters I've had so far.
But wolves... newspapers here are having a field day about "The Wolf is Back!!!11ONE".
"Experts" say, it's totally not dangerous to humans. What with not being a carnivore, barely territorial and totally not possessing those teeth that could cut through cattle bone any time. Dem teeth.
Dunno man. I don't feel comfortable getting engaged by a free running Pitbull and now I'm being told not be afraid of wolves.
inb4: mah gun. Yeah... can't legally carry one around here, sucks to be Yurop. I can't even legally carry bear spray with me, although it's easy to acquire so I've got it with me.
I understand this isn't bear/coyote/shapeshifter territory here but I'd like to hear /out/'s opinion on wolves.
tl;dr: how to deal with wolves when no /k/
