I'm "homeless" in Japan, in the technical sense. I have no fixed address and live out of a backpack.
But I also have $13000 to my name, and entered on a 1 year working visa, so I can take up a job if I want.
I get by by staying at farms or inns, getting food and shelter in exchange for labor. Right now I'm down south in the Kyushu region because it's still only early spring.
Next week I'm getting an Airbnb in Miyazaki city, so I can go have some fun. After that I'll hitchhike north to Oita and catch the ferry to Shikoku.
Pictured is a beach in Miyazaki. Today I bought a backpack sized fishing rod, and the 60yo innkeeper I'm staying with now will teach me some fishing techniques. some time next week.
