Apart from north and coastal, Spain is pretty boring. Also the nice, flat and interesting places are all private while shit dry desert or inaccessible vertical jungle hellscapes are useless for camping. You get these "designated" hiking routes in scenic regions but going of trail is not only possible (for example in picos de europa) but is also boring because its just either a vertical breakneck mosquito swamp jungle, dry as fuck desert or flat private livestock fields. Catalunya has some very nice spots but its dry as fuck and again not much to see outside designated routes. Forget about "bushwhacking" forget about getting lost in a forest, forget about even sleeping tight without hearing a highway or some bitch ass dog barking in the distance.
