Actual campfire for food 5/10.
A pain to clean pots afterwards.
Disposable bbq grill 1/10.
Heavy and stupid.
Portable mini wood stove 5/10.
Works fine below the treeline. Low weight, small form factor. Is a sooty mess, will get your pots all charred up.
Multifuel system 7/10.
Works fine with ANY flammable liquid , quite heavy and sounds like a fucking jet plane.
Trangia cook set 5/10.
Sturdy but heavy and takes up much space in your pack. Intended fuel is low on heat and the fumes can give you a headache.
Cannister w/burner 9/10.
All sizes cannisters and burners can be had. As heavy or light as you need it to be. Cannisters last a lot longer than you'd think. No charred pots. Will burn your food if you cook with titanium pots and don't stir continuously. Very unlikely to fail.
Alcohol stove w/ bio ethanol 10/10.
Ultra light, clean burning fuel = no smell, no charred pots. Unless you tip it over, it can't fail.
