Toyota says the vehicle is not designed to, and should not be used to tow anything at all. This will void the warranty unquestionably.
Yes, you could get a hitch, and it will physically pull somethinget, but that does not mean it is safe, and does not mean the prius has been rated to tow something.
I can hook a trailer up to my dog and he can pull it, doesn't mean he has a tow rating.
