>>557793it doesnt matter what length the rod is, you're not going to cast a 2 pound fish with a 10+ ounce weight stuck on it, even a 15 foot surf rod wont get 42 ounces of bait on a 10 foot leader out far enough to get anything. you have one guy on shore hold the rod, then paddle the bait out on a kayak. i've surf fished before, i have a 10 foot rod and a 12 foot rod, i've gotten everything from a 13 inch blue fish to a ray 4 feet across, now please, next time, learn what you're on about before you call someone stupid.
