So that would be a question of what the community based goals are. If its a managed trapping/hunting area then that would call for one degree of wildlife completeness, if its a managed woodland for lumber then that would be another level.
In fantasy world, I would looooooove the idea of giving a bulk of the planet back to a raw, wild and woolly world, but unfortunately it seems like the only way to preserve nature in bulk quantity is for humans to have a vested interest (preferably economic) in its preservation. That precludes certain natural players, functions, etc at least in degree if not in kind.
