>>2159175Since you mentioned wild chickens (junglefowl) I assume you are in South or Southeast Asia. There are a lot of different jungly biomes there, but as others have said your biggest enemy will probably not be big animals (although some of them are VERY dangerous, saltwater crocs come to mind) but the heat and humidity, and also the terrain. A machete will be very useful in clearing a straight path forwards. Dengue is endemic, and it's worse in rivers and wetlands. Stepping in a puddle could get you a case of swimmer's itch. Fording a river could get you chomped on by a croc. And mangroves? Mangroves are effectively impassable by foot or by boat. So make sure you have a good map of the area before trying to head into it. If you're staying in the jungle for any length of time, hire a local guide, they're not expensive and they understand most of these rules. Also
