It should work well on the yak. It throws smooth enough (my curado casts further) and the drag is beefed enough to muscle fish away from the kelp. I dont particularly like the gearing, you can hear a slight grind. I pulled it apart and the guts are quality but the noise is kind of off putting to me kind of hoping it'll smooth out with use, but then again I'm spoiled. I paid $179 on sale with free delivery so I think its a good deal for new shiny, wouldve been better priced at $150 though.
