>>92634Congrats OP. I have almost exactly the same problem. Going alone anywhere is always potentially more dangerous. But if you take a buddy, you can always blame him of everything that went wrong. For years I have tried to get my friend to go with me to holidays or hikes or such. Usually they talk and plan but bail out at the last moment. And when they come, the trip is full of compromise and complaint.
Lately I've learned to make all the plans myself. As if I'd be going alone, even if someone has volunteered to go along. I tell my friends when I'm leaving, what's the plan and so forth, everything is ready and closed and they're welcomed to join. I even put the budget and what to bring cheklist on paper for them, so there's no misunderstandings there. And often enough they say 'sounds good, count me in'. And what they mean is, they just want to be good bros and not sound like pussies. And they bail out at the last moment. Fuckers. But then again, maybe it's for the best.
