>>2606488I'm new too. When fishing for panfish with a bobber and bait I noticed the fish would swim past my bait too, sometimes checking it out but leaving it alone. Then I removed the bobber and just used a split shot like a foot above the hook alone with worm on the hook. And that worked well, the panfish didn't mins biting then. The bobber was apparently scaring them.
The panfish were also easiest to catch next to or directly under a pier.
