Hey /out/, I realize this may be a more /k/ question but I want your perspective on the matter:
What do you guys recommend as far as a good longarm (as opposed to a pistol/sidearm) for home/self defense, hunting/innawoods, and survival; preferably without breaking my wallet.
The standard AR15 5.56 carbine/rifle always comes to mind due to ammo and gun prices/availability; unfortunately it is illegal to hunt deer with them (just don't get caught, r-right?)
.357mag carbine/rifle might be neat to share ammunition with a sidearm while still being legal.
12ga shotgun sounds pretty versatile with ability to take birds, small game/varmints, and up to deer and bears; though being a skellington the recoil might break me.
Are 'takedown' guns a meme? Conceal/packability might be cool for innawoods.
